In most countries, paramotor pilots operate

under simple rules that spare them certification requirements for pilot and

gear. Those laws, however, limit where they can fly—specifying that pilots

avoid congested areas and larger airports to minimize risk to other people or

aircraft. U.S. pilots operate under Federal Aviation Administration regulation

Part 103.

Associations

In the U.S., the sport is represented

primarily by the US Powered Paragliding Association (USPPA)[note 1] which also

holds an exemption allowing two-place training by appropriately certified

tandem instructors. The US Ultralight Association (USUA) and Aero Sports

Connections (ASC) also offer some support.

Instructors in the U.S. are primarily

represented and certified by the United States Powered Paragliding

Association(USPPA). Other organizations include the Professional Association of

Powered Paragliding Instructors (***PI).

中國航協(xié)懸掛滑翔委員會在社會贊助和支持下，先后在北京、上海、天津、廣州、深圳、武漢、成都、西安、青島、大連、哈爾濱、沈陽、石家莊、鄭州、南昌、南京、杭州、福州、廈門等城市組織了多次動力傘巡回賽、動力傘邀請賽和全國錦標(biāo)賽并組織了多次動力傘飛行表演，每次的賽事和活動都在社會上產(chǎn)生了巨大影響，從而推動了我國動力傘運(yùn)動的發(fā)展。1997年，中國香港回歸之際，成功舉辦了中國香港至北京動力傘拉力賽，2004年，“海爾杯”動力傘巡回賽，歷經(jīng)三個多月十八個城市，到場觀眾超過了20萬人，**電視臺國際頻道對賽事進(jìn)行了全程報(bào)道并制作了多集專題片。2005年，在上海成功舉辦了有七個國家和地區(qū)45名運(yùn)動員參加的國際動力傘邀請賽，特別邀請了國際航聯(lián)的官員和裁判，得到了國際**們的充分肯定。中國航協(xié)也組織參加了多次在國外舉行的世界性比賽， 2005年8月，中國動力傘**隊(duì)3名運(yùn)動員，參加了在法國舉辦的世界動力傘錦標(biāo)賽。2006年，再次得到國際**企業(yè)的贊助和支持，成功在五個城市舉行了“豐田銳志杯”動力傘巡回賽暨全國錦標(biāo)賽。由于國內(nèi)舉辦各種動力傘賽事和活動的巨大成功，得到了國際航聯(lián)的高度重視。

動力傘飛行是一項(xiàng)集技能、體能、智能于一體的時尚體育運(yùn)動，同時也是一項(xiàng)勇敢者的運(yùn)動。動力傘飛行所使用的器材是至今為止，人類可控飛行**容易掌握的有動力載人**小飛行器。動力傘作為一種飛行器,有續(xù)航時間長、造價(jià)低、雷達(dá)反射面小、載荷大等特點(diǎn)。

動力傘運(yùn)動是運(yùn)動員駕駛動力傘飛行器材，在平地完成起飛升空，低空完成踢標(biāo)、繞標(biāo)、定點(diǎn)，空中完成延時留空、目標(biāo)尋找、速度競賽等飛行科目的航空運(yùn)動項(xiàng)目。在許多競速科目中，只規(guī)定了一些必須飛越的標(biāo)志點(diǎn)，至于點(diǎn)與點(diǎn)之間的飛行順序、飛行方向、飛行路線，都需要運(yùn)動員自己做出判斷，并在**短的時間內(nèi)做出決策和完成任務(wù)。在規(guī)定方向和順序的踢標(biāo)、繞標(biāo)科目中，運(yùn)動員要人與器材密切配合，既要熟練掌握動力傘的操縱技法又要體會和判斷氣候的影響、風(fēng)的變化，做到人傘合一。動力傘運(yùn)動不僅是一項(xiàng)身體和技能的訓(xùn)練，更是一項(xiàng)心智的訓(xùn)練。這項(xiàng)運(yùn)動涉及到航空理論、氣象知識、運(yùn)動健身等多學(xué)科知識。深受廣大航空運(yùn)動愛好者的喜愛。

Powered paragliders are useful as

replacements for terrestrial vehicles in difficult terrain. In some areas

during the spring when the sea or lakes are still frozen but the ice has begun

melting, the waters cannot be walked, skied, or driven on and cannot be

navigated by boat. Hydrocopters, hovercraft, and aircraft are the only ways to

travel in such conditions. Furthermore, if the landscape is fractured by small

and shallow lakes and bays, as in swamplands, it may be difficult to navigate

even in good conditions. Observation and counting of protected species, e.g.

Saimaa ringed seal, in such conditions has been conducted using a powered

paraglider.

Another use that has been demonstrated is

the herding of reindeer. Although the tundra is open terrain, there are no

roads and the terrain is still uneven. A powered parachute can be used instead

of a snowmobile or a motorcycle.
